I’ll help you create rhythms so your home feels manageable instead of overwhelming, and you can homeschool, build your business, and handle mom life without burnout. Because the truth is, we can’t do this on our own—we need Jesus in our days, in our decisions, and in the middle of the chaos.
It’s time to stop the constant chaos and the daily scramble and choose a simpler, faith-filled way of doing life and business—so you can show up with the patience and presence your family deserves. ❤️
Hey, I’m Billie-Jo—wife, homeschool mama to 3, and business owner just like you. I know exactly what it feels like to try to manage a home, homeschool kids, and grow a business, only to end the day feeling exhausted and behind. For a long time, I chased perfection and tried to do it all on my own, but it only left me overwhelmed, always playing catch up, and often my day ended in tears.
Everything changed when I started giving my days and my to-do list to God. I traded the pressure of perfection for simple, faith-filled routines and learned to separate my work, homeschool time, and managing our home.
Now, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned with you! Each week, we’ll dive into:
✨Routines
✨Time Management
✨Boundaries
These are the areas that will help you gain your time back, protect your peace, and reduce the chaos.
I promise, there is a better way to do this. It’s time to trade the burnout for a life filled with grace, laughter, and simple routines. So, grab your cold brew, pop in those earbuds, and let’s start simplifying. 🧋✨🎧

You sit down at your desk with your coffee, and you’ve finally got a quiet moment to plan out the week. You open your planner... but suddenly, the overwhelm hits. You’re looking at the empty planner and the long to-do list, and instead of feeling organized, you feel stuck. Your brain feels like it has fifty tabs open, and you just want to shut the book and walk away.
If you’ve ever felt "stuck" the second you sat down to plan, this episode is for you. We’re talking about why your system is actually causing that overwhelm—and the four simple shifts that will turn your chaos into a faith-filled flow.
In this episode, we discuss:
Why we find mindless chores to do just to avoid facing a broken planning system.
How ignoring drive times and prep windows creates a week built on imaginary hours.
Why trying to "do it all" in one work block is draining your brain.
Filtering your "List of 100" down to what actually moves the needle in your home and business.
Why your Monday morning success actually depends on a 20-minute Sunday planning session.
The 4 Things to Fix-
The Calendar Reality Check: Stop planning from memory. If it takes time, it takes a spot on the calendar—including drive time and getting out the door!
Energy Batching: Stop switching between emails, videos, and follow-ups. Stay in one "mode" at a time to keep your momentum high and your stress low.
The Focus Filter: Ditch the 20-item to-do list. Identify your Top 3 non-negotiables for the day. Everything else is a bonus.
End "In the Moment" Planning: Your brain is too tired to decide what to do after a day of homeschooling. Plan the weekend before. Checking your planner the night before can reduce the stress the next morning.
Scripture:
Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God."

You can’t manage time that you aren't first protecting."
We’ve all tried to "manage" our time—moving blocks around and trying to fit everything on a calendar like a game of Tetris. We hope this is the week it finally works. But here’s the truth - you can’t manage your time if you aren’t protecting it.
In this episode, I’m sharing the five boundaries every working homeschool mom needs to set to stop the hustle, ditch the burnout, and finally find her flow.
In this episode, we discuss:
Why "hustle mode" almost cost me the very connection I was working so hard to provide for my kids.
Learning which parts of your life will shatter if we drop them and what we might need to set aside.
Time blocking
Put the phone away
Protecting your "Heck Yes" by turning down what doesn’t serve you

Is This You?
Do you work all day?
Does everything seem to crash mid-day?
Do you start your day with a list of 20 things to do?
Are you comparing yourself to what other moms are doing?
What if the reason you’re feeling overwhelmed isn’t that you have too much to do, but because you’re trying to do things that were never required of you in the first place? Today, we’re exposing the working homeschool mom lie nobody talks about.
We’re talking about why you don’t have to post on social media every day, why you don’t have to do every school subject every day, and how letting go of 'everything' is the only way to actually find peace and calm in our home and life.
How many times have you said? "I just need to get through this week, and then I’ll finally breathe." But then next week comes, and it’s the same thing all over again.
In this episode, I’m talking about the "Everything Lie"—the crushing expectation that you have to be 100% everything to 100% everyone, all at the exact same time.
Word for your Heart: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:28-30

Are you waiting for a four-hour block on Saturday to finally get your life together? In this episode, I break down the Reset System I've been using for years to manage my home, business, and homeschool in the tiny gaps of your day. Learn how to stop the "Saturday 5:00 PM Oh No!" and start leaning on these tiny resets.
The Saturday Reality Check: Why waiting for "big blocks of time" is keeping you overwhelmed (spoiler alert, they rarely ever happen) and why 1 minute can change your home.
From Reaction to Routine: the moment I realized my home didn't need an overhaul—it needed a reset.
The Mindset Shift - Gratitude in the Cleaning: Before we dive into the systems, we have to change how we look at the mess.
Seeing the floor that needs vacuuming as a blessing of a safe home for your kids.
How "stewardship" changes the atmosphere of your home more than "cleaning" ever will.
The Three Step Reset System:
The 1-Minute Reset: The "Coffee Brew" wiping a counter.
The 5-Minute Reset: A quick clean of something in the kitchen, bathroom, living room, or homeschool area
The 15-Minute Reset: A little bit deeper clean
Getting the Kids Involved: How to turn your kids into reset experts, where they will start doing it on their own.
Scheduling for Flow: How to plan these resets during the week.
Key Takeaways:
Stop waiting for Saturday. Peace is built in the one-minute windows.
Close the chapter. Use the 5-minute pivot to stop "overlap stress" between school and business.
Shift your heart. When you are thankful for the home you have, the "work" of keeping it becomes an act of worship.

Have you ever felt like you’ve turned into the "Mean Mom"? The one who is constantly saying, "Not right now," or "Please, just let me work!" You’ve tried setting boundaries, but by the time work starts, you’re already stressed, overwhelmed, and feeling like you’re failing at running a business, homeschooling, and mom life.
In this episode, we’re digging into why those boundaries keep breaking. Here’s the truth: You don’t have a boundary problem. You have a systems problem. We are going to fix the systems in your day so you can stop being the “Mean Mom” and start being the fun, faith-filled mama you were called to be.
Do you ever find yourself snapping at your kids and then immediately feeling that heavy weight of Mom-guilt?
Are you trying to switch from "Work Mode" to "Mom Mode" in zero seconds?
Is it possible that the "interruption" isn't actually your kids, but the laundry or the messy kitchen sink that’s draining your mental energy?
Have I actually told my kids what they can do while I’m working, or am I just expecting them to read my mind?
In this episode, I’m getting that exact moment I realized I was snapping at my kids simply because I was expecting them to respect a boundary I hadn’t built a system for. We dive into the "Yes" System, showing you how to replace the frantic "please just let me work" with a pre-approved list of independent activities that keep your kids occupied and your focus intact. I share why meal planning and Sunday Meal Prep are actually a "logistics boundary" that keeps you from being a short-order cook all day, and why the 5-Minute "Hat Switch" is the thing every working mom needs to transition from CEO to Mama without the stress. We also talk about using the 10-Minute Reset as a form of cleaning therapy to clear the physical clutter and the "noise" in your head, all while anchoring our hearts in Proverbs 4:26 to ensure we are giving careful thought to the paths we are building for our families.
If you are tired of the chaos cycle and ready to gain time back in your day, I have two things for you. First - join our community in The Working Homeschool Mom Simplified Facebook Group—it’s where we support each other and keep it real. Second, I’ve put together a Daily Routine Checklist to help you find those hidden pockets of time so you can get out of the overwhelm and back to what truly matters, like spending time with your family and time for self care.

Which system do you need to build first?
Identify your biggest "leak": What is the one thing that always makes you snap? Is it snacks? Is it interruptions?
Build a "Yes" System: Tell your kids today exactly what they can do the next time you need to focus.
Set a Timer: Try a 10-Minute Reset after lunch today and notice how it clears your head.
Share the Love: If this episode helped you stop the "Mean Mom" guilt, please leave a review and share it with a friend!
The Final Word: "You weren't meant to carry the weight of a chaotic schedule on your own. You aren’t a 'Mean Mom'—you’re a wise mama who is building a better path for her family. So, grab that cold brew, set your timer for your 10-minute reset, and take a breath. You’ve got this!"

The Morning Reality Check
Does your homeschool day fall apart before it even truly begins?
Do you have quiet time with God at 6:00 AM, only to lose your patience by 9:30 AM?
Do you start your day without a plan?
Do you have a plan if a kid has a meltdown?
If you’re nodding your head, mama, you aren't alone. I’ve been there, looking around the home and wondering if I got in over my head while trying to homeschool and run a business without the overwhelm. The truth is, we don’t need more hours in the day; we need systems that actually support our reality as working moms. Today, I’m showing you the cost of "winging it" and how to stop that morning chaos. We’re moving past the "mom guilt" and into four practical shifts that will help you reclaim your time and peace in your home.
The Hard Truth
Why a system-less home is training our kids to live in chaos—and how it’s stealing your witness and your patience.
The Sunday Night Map: Stop the "Winging It" anxiety by spending 20 minutes mapping out your "Big 3" before the week starts.
The Backup Plan: How to create a "Plan B" for those days when appointments run long or meltdowns hit. (Hint: Baking with the kids counts as school!)
The Morning Routine: Why reclaiming just 20 minutes for yourself, the Bible, and your coffee is setting the tone for your home.
The Reset: My non-negotiable "Kitchen Close-Down" and how a 15-minute reset gives you the mental white space actually to enjoy your life.
"Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands." — Proverbs 14:1 (CSB)
If you're ready to close out the chaos, grab my The Working Homeschool Mom’s Daily Rhythm. It’s the exact tool I've been using for years and it will help you too.

Are you always busy, yet always feeling behind? Welcome to the very first episode of The Working Homeschool Mom! I’m your host, Billie-Jo—wife, homeschooling mama to three, and business owner. My journey into motherhood started a little differently; I became a mom at age 48 practically overnight through adoption. I went from a quiet, organized life to a loud, chaotic, and beautiful home in an instant.
I’m sharing how I went from ending my days in tears—chasing a version of perfection that didn't exist—to finding peace and productivity through simple, faith-filled routines. If you are trying to balance the homeschool books, run a business, and keep your home from falling apart by 9:00 AM, you are in the right place.
We focus on
Simple Routines: Practical kitchen hacks, meal prep, and home management that actually work for a busy family.
Time Management: How to find hidden pockets of time to grow your business without sacrificing your family.
Boundaries: Learning how to separate "work time" from "school time" so you can be fully present with your kids.
Faith over Perfection: Inviting Jesus into the middle of the chaos and trading burnout for grace.
I am here to help you gain your time back and create rhythms that make your home feel manageable again. It's not about perfection at all.
It’s time to stop surviving and start thriving.
So, grab your cold brew, pop in those earbuds, and let’s fold that load of laundry while we chat. Let’s start simplifying together!
